20.9.2020 and 18.10.2020: SIRIBOX Experiments (KW Institute for Contemporary Art)
Hey Siri! What is a curator? is a series of experiments from the SIRIBOX, developed by the Schattenmuseum’s Youth Committee, and an invitation to experiment together. The experiments open up various possibilities of interaction with the artworks exhibited at the 11th Berlin Biennale and invite visitors of all ages to participate!
The Schattenmuseum’ Youth Committee consists of 15 children and young people aged 10 to 20 years, who advise museums on their youth friendliness. It was founded out of a series of school projects with the Jewish Museum Berlin and works together with sideviews e.V. on artistic formats. Since 2018, the committee has been cooperating with the Berlinische Galerie, meeting regularly to conduct research and develop its own projects along the museum’s content. This results in workshops, experiments, game instructions, exhibitions and symposia. In 2020 a new cooperation with KW Institute for Contemporary Art will also begin.
4.10.2020 and 1.11.2020: New Superheroes, with Carla Romero
Where do superheroes exist—only in comic books? Together we’ll go through the artistic wardrobe of the daadgalerie where we will meet new superheroes who use their bodies and clothing to speak out against the injustices of our time.
We will create new superhero costumes of our own with all kinds of materials such as fabrics, paper, glue, and markers. These can be taken home after the workshop.
